John Makar, 77, of Antioch, IL, formerly of North Chicago, IL, peacefully passed away at his home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sharon (née Paramski) in 2007. They were married on August 6, 1966 at Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago. John attended Holy Rosary Grade School and North Chicago High School. He served in the U.S. Army, the Vietnam War, and was a member of Antioch VFW Post 4551. John was employed by International Harvester and retired from Rohm and Haas. John is remembered for the love he had for his family and being an avid Chicago sports fan. He is survived by his daughter Johnette Romanski (Jamieson Hubbard); granddaughter, Kelsey Makar-Romanski; brothers, Bill Makar and Ed (Loretta) Makar; brothers-in-law, Gary Paramski and Louie Holub; sister-in-law, Linda Holub; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Sharon, he is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Chesterill Makar.
